Getting started may become the hardest part of doing something. We may already have the plan of what we are going to do, but somehow we just don’t feel motivated enough to start it. In order to overcome this problem, we have to develop certain habit to restore and maintain the motivation. 1. Plan your work

Make a plan. Organize your effort to make it make sense and most effective to reach your goal. Make a realistic plan. Decide when you are going to do the work and how long will it take for you to do the work. Make sure to think about the time you need to do the job and when do you have that time. When it is about an important project, you might want to do it when your mood in the best condition. Some people get most productive in the morning when their energy level is at its highest. Know your time and plan it effectively.

2. Work your plan

Plan is just a plan when you are not stick to it. When you already have your plan, then, take action! While planning were the stage you’re thinking about the most efficient and effective process that will get you to the result, the take action time is the stage when you are going to put it into motion. Pay close attention to not second guessing yourself or reworking your plan. This will only burn more time and decrease your motivation. Stick to the rule, and do it as you’ve planned. The busier you are, the closer the goal is to you.

3. Set short term goals

One great way to motivate yourself and maintain it during the completion of task is by setting short term goals. By doing so, you are dividing one huge process into small processes. These are great ways of measuring how much have you done and how much does it take to reach the goal. Achieving your short term goals and taking the time to identify that you have done so, increases your own self satisfaction and keep your motivation up.

4. Avoid routine

If what you are doing involve any sort of repetition, you should avoid routine to keep yourself motivated. You can either perform certain tasks at different intervals, or maybe alternate the task. Find your ways of minimizing boredom; try to increase your interest. By doing so, you will become more engaged and somehow be more productive.

5. Have recharging time

Give yourself a break. Plan a down time in your schedule. As with most things it is easier to give it your best when you’re fully rested. You will get more motivated when your body is in best condition.
